From 1 January 2016., according to a further step in the implementation of the provisions, of the Directive of the European Parliament and Council Directive 2009/125/EC, of 21 October 2009., in EcoDesign apply new requirements for ventilation systems, which are described in the following documents:

1. Commission Regulation (EU) no 1253/2014, of 7 July 2014 on the implementation of the Directive, of the European Parliament and Council Directive 2009/125/ECA as regards the requirements concerning the Ecodesign for ventilation systems (EU L 337/8).

2. Commission delegated Regulation (EU) no 1254/2014, of 11 July 2014 supplementing Directive of the European Parliament and Council 2010/30/EU, with regard to energy labeling of ventilation systems for residential buildings (EU L 337/27).

Subject matter and scope:

All ventilation systems placed on the market or put into service the ventilation system, must comply the requirements set out in the regulations.

Devices do not covered by the requirements of the new regulation:

with power consumption to 30W

intended exclusively for use in potentially explosive atmospheres

belonging to the fire safety systems, used in emergency situations

working with selected under strict conditions

equipped with a heat pump

New definitions:

RVU ventilation systems for residential buildings

(each device with a capacity of 250 m3/h or 1000 m3/h)

NRVU ventilation systems for nonresidential buildings

(each unit with a capacity of more than 1 000 m3/h or device with a capacity, ranging from 250 to 1000 m3/h, unless the manufacturer has not declared, that the product is intended for residential buildings)

The main Ecodesign requirements include:

minimum level of heat recovery

the maximum allowable energy consumption

filtration in ventilation systems

All systems supply and exhaust air must have a heat recovery unit (UOC), with the implementation of heat recovery bypass. Fan units must be multi-speed or variable speed system fan rotation.

The required minimum efficiency heat recovery:

from 1 January 2016 67% (min. 63% of the intermediate medium)

from 1 January 2018 73% (min. 68% of the intermediate medium)

The internal unit fan power JMWint (SFP int) must not exceed a maximum value.
JMWint determined on the basis of the air flow, the type of heat recovery equipment, and the amount of efficiency used filtration class and pressure loss in the device.

Ventilation systems, RVU type must have the energy label.

Devices that do not meet the minimum requirements, can not be marketed on the markets of EU countries.

All equipment, manufactured by Clima Gold, fulfill the requirements of the EcoDesign Directive.
